OMG!!! I just thought of something else .....

My GF is currently doing something so super.... I wanted to help but alas, it is a specific day, specific time and is not at all conducive to those who might be working or SAHM's .... BUT how about a reading program ??

Not necessarily directed to Children, but to all ages? a few hours a week dedicated to listening to readers???? instructional and yet fun.......... People who can offer up their time to listen to an encourage readers??

Our own schools ask for those who are willing / able to sit with students who need encouragement, one on one attention..... imagine if this was offered OUTSIDE school hours ... volunteers could come in (I would for sure!!) and spend a little time with anyone who might need / want to read.
I taught both of my Children and my nephew how to read and am most proud that they share the same enthusiasm for reading as I .... I know that there are folks who in our own community could benefit from such an opportunity .....and maybe a few 'professionals' who would donate their time for such a cause!

Another thing ..... maybe too much of a stretch, but in my youth (hehheee) we had a mobile library (geared to Childrens literature) that would come to our Village once a week .....I would sit and wait for them (moreso than the ice cream van!!) - this was an opportunity for us when we weren't in School to have access to books .... It was super exciting and I loved it !!

Oh My !!! I feel ever so crazy with all these suggestions  I'm a certified 'bookaholic!!!!'
