I both dread and look forward to the day my children don't dress up anymore. Mostly, I think I dread it. I've been putting off making their costumes this year. I always get bogged down with self-put-upon pressure to do a better job than my own mother did (or at least as good). And I'm not actually that creative! LOL! But once the pressure of making the "perfect costume" is resolved, I love Halloween!!
I hate getting ready (really, do!) but I love walking outside in the crisp Fall air (here's hoping

) and going door to door, watching the kids hobble up and down the driveways in their costumes that are usually difficult to maneuver. I love finishing up and sitting on the porch to hand out candy to remaining little critters. The kids are all so excited and adorable!
Do any of you have memorable costumes YOU wore?
My two most memorable include my brother. Together we were Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and we are actually too young to have known who they were! Ha! We each had cowboy/girl outfits on with our cardboard horses. On the back of my "horse" was printed the words "Happy trails to you...." and on the back of my brother's "...until we meet again.
The second involved the Dayton area news give away called "Art Brown's Table for Two." Anyone remember this? Every week they gave away gift certificates for this. My mom dressed my brother and I up in adult style fashion and roped a table around us somehow, complete with attached plates, silverware, candles, etc. We walked around on a "date", I guess. Very hard to explain!
See what I have to live up to?
