Weed identification

Hey guys/gals

Having an issue with my raised bed in the back yard. I did not plant whatever this is thats growing, but its growing all over my garden. I will post pics tonight, but off the bat; heres what I've got. They're all about 3-4 feet tall, solid green, no flowers, no berries/fruit/ and the stems and main shaft are fuzzy. At first I thought maybe we planted something without realizing it, but its ...

Spring is close?

It has been a brutal winter here in the valley. Before the last snow, in an area next to the driveway, I noticed tulips coming through the ground after the snow melted, that were not there before the last snow! The snow had been shoveled very deep along the driveway and they came up under it! In the same location, pansies with a bud that will open with just a hint of warmth! (and that ...

Glad's bloomed AGAIN!!!

I do have to say, shock of all shocks, one of my Glads bloomed again   Sadly it's sat next to an almost 'deceased' one - how bizarre !!

I read that I should remove the stems and dig up the bulbs for replanting next spring... anyone have any thoughts on that ??

The little apple tree is growing crooked and we now have it staked back but it's branches are leaning in one direction, some way longer than others plus it is full of fruit right now. Mom won't let me touch it. ...

Knock out roses

For my happy, happy Birthday I got a 'knock out rose' bush. They are gorgeous and seemingly not even I can kill them (hope I didn't just jinx myself!)

But as it seams that I have resurrected my Orchids, and have new buds on my rose bush I might be becoming a tad overly confident  but for anyone who is not blessed with green thumbs, I ...

unwanted grass

I have a bed that's filled with sedum. Unfortunately grass has also decided to take root. Short of digging it ALL up, is there anything I can do to get rid of the grass without killing the sedum?

Got rabbits?

Got another call last night about pesky rabbits eating the garden. Thought I would pass along a bit of advice. Don't try and trap a rabbit. They really can have a heart attack and die instantly from stress. When you see one standing still in your yard, the rabbit thinks it is invisible but his heart is racing nonetheless.

Deer-Off II works wonderfully to keep rabbits from eating your plants. It can also be used ...
