Thought I would post this here after every game the Wee Hornets Play.

The Wee Hornets faired well in the season opener against Tri County North. I know it was a long trip (45 mins) North for the teams, but they played well for the most part.

3rd Grade: Hornets 8 - Tri County North 12. The 3rd grade team made it exciting by recovering a fumble with lest than 2 minutes in the opponents territory. They just weren't able to punch it in.

4th Grade: they got thrown a curve ball right off the bat when they showed up and weren't playing Tri County North. They didn't have enough kids to field a team so they found out that day that they were playing one of the 2 Valley View Teams. They took care of business and beat VV 30 - 0.

5th Grade: Came out and scored on the first play of their offense series and took a hand off up the middle for 70 yards. The entire team played well and had some big hits throughout the game. They won 28 - 6

6th Grade: The 6th grade Hornets scored early in the game to go up 8-0 and then it was a battle of wills with the Hornets coming out on top 8 - 0.

The Hornets went 3-1 Saturday so it was a good day for the first day of the season. The Wee Hornets have a bye next week, and then the weekend off for Labor Day, so our next games aren't until 9/12/09 @ Madison.
