I watched him pitch in the district final and he struck out 11 of the 16 outs he recorded! Was told he has been clocked at 91MPH and has a sharp breaking curve to go with it. He was overpowering and a name you will hear a lot more about. The fact that he hasn't signed already says there is a lot of interest from a lot of teams and why not!!

MONROE — Monroe High School senior pitcher Christian McElroy was offered by Ohio State University today, June 10, to continue his baseball career.

McElroy was 8-0 for the Hornets this season, which was his first as a

pitcher. He also recorded 82 strikeouts and had a 2.36 ERA.

McElroy also was named the Southwestern Buckeye League, Buckeye Division

Player of the Year, and was named to the Division II Miami Valley Baseball

Coaches Association first team.

He has other scholarships offers from Eastern Kentucky, Indiana,

Xavier and Urbana.

Monroe pitcher commits to Cincinnati

Monroe High School pitcher Christian McElroy has officially committed to the University of Cincinnati, according to Hornets coach Bob Hunt.

McElroy was recently offered by Ohio State and also had offers from Eastern Kentucky, Xavier, Indiana and Ball State.

He posted an 8-0 record as a senior with 82 strikeouts and a 2.36 ERA in 53 1/3 innings.

He was named the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division Player of the Year, and also was named to the Division II Southwest District first team.
