Woman pulled from car, raped - Monroe

Postby HRHPatey » Thu, 05 Nov 2009 13:08:20 GMT

Obviously this is rather too close to Home for me, additionally noting the 8pm time frame, although dark, it was evening time. I cannot make assumptions but will say that location is a place that one would have to drive to or live close by (enough to walk) therefore concerns are obviously heightened.

I read this on a different form but what I realized afterwards is that the Motel in question is notably rundown, it also (as I understand it) is utilized as a 'half way house' for Sexual offenders. (I will research and confirm that!)

For whatever reason this Lady choose to park in an unlit backlot of a 'shady' motel, it does not excuse, explain or justify the heinous act that ensued.
Please take a look at the composite sketch and to all Please be diligent and aware of your surroundings !

Cincinnati.com reports:
A woman was pulled from her car and raped by a stranger who apparently was waiting in the area, Monroe police said Wednesday.

Police are seeking the public's help to find a suspect who looks like a composite sketch that police put together with the help of the 36-year-old woman who reported the attack last week, Police Detective Ken Parson said.

This is the first time in several years that such an incident has been reported in Monroe, a Butler County city of about 12,000 people. It is a top priority for police to solve the crime, Parson said.

Police in Monroe were comparing notes with police in Middletown who had a rape with a similar series of events about two weeks ago, a police report says. Details of the Middletown incident were not immediately available.

The woman in the Monroe incident reported she was raped Thursday evening. A police report says she pulled into the parking lot of the Parkside Inn to make a call on her cell phone around 8 p.m.

"She was on the phone in her car ... (when a man) opened her driver's side door and pulled her from her vehicle by her hair," the report says. The man punched her on the left side of her face, shoved her to the ground, scratched her and hit her several times. The attacker then raped the woman.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven white male in his mid-30s, with a medium build, standing 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-11, with dark eyes and short, dark hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Parson at 513-539-9234.

In addition to that report, Middletown Journal adds :
The 37-year-old victim told detectives she was sitting in the rear lot of the Parkside Inn, 5853 Ohio 4, at about 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, talking on her cell phone when a man opened the driver’s side door and pulled her out by her hair, according to the police report.

The man then punched the victim in the face and shoved her to the ground, scratching her and ripping off her panty hose. The woman called police minutes after the rape from her mother’s home and was taken to Atrium Medical Center for an examination and treatment.

“This is a real violent assault,” said Monroe police Detective Ken Parson. “Any help we could get would be most appreciated.”

I'd like to know how that motel stays in business. It's been there since before I was little kid and it was a dump then. Maybe the sex offender thing is how they stay open. Regardless, it ought to be torn down in my opinion.

Jeremy ~ I was just thinking about you today - so glad that you posted :)

We moved here March 2000 - at that time each weekend there was a race track (for want of a better term) that we heard, I think it was Bikes but wouldn't swear to it. I do not recall when that stopped, but at the time, I was lead to believe that those that traveled would stay at the 'No - tell Motel   ) I know that I am thinking it was at least a year ago (possibly more) when we ceased to hear the weekend rumble ........

It is concerning and I cannot believe that anyone passing would assume it to be a safe/clean place to stay... it appears run down and rather yucky looking, I guess it generates revenue or would already be another empty vessel ....
