CINCINNATI -- A woman is facing charges after she allegedly took it upon herself to discipline a stranger's toddler inside a local store.
Police arrested 43-year-old Gloria Ballard of Cincinnati on Tuesday following the incident at the Salvation Army store on Clay Street in Over-the-Rhine.
According to police documents, Ballard told the mother she didn't know how to care for her son, then proceeded to pick up the 2-year-old boy, put him over her lap, and spank him three times.
Police say Ballard did not have permission to touch the child and, as a result, she is now charged with assault. She is due in court on Wednesday afternoon.
