Whoo Hoo! Jeans a la shorts ;-)

All summer long my dirt magnet of a Son has been going outside and crucifying his shorts, dirt, grass, you name it!! :(

I have spent endless hours scrubbing and cleaning them.... so here I am today making sure everything is ready for the week, washing, ironing, etc., he asks to go outside and I frown as look at all of his shorts laundered and ready...  I'll have him put on some jeans, simply cut them off at the knees and let him go for it, thinking that I would bin them anyway....

I must add at this point, he has grown out of all of his jeans that I purchased at the back end of spring, each pair were expensive (what is up with the cost of Boys jeans????) OMG!!! why it didn't occur to me previously and why it occurred to me the day before school starts  I'm chopping them off and hemming them - et voila!
The best part about this is that I went to Old Navy (Sunday) but they were closed, I love their shorts and the fit works well for him, but alas, was thinking I'd have to go back this weekend and pick some up - problem solved!!!!!

Just thought I'd make mention of this, maybe there is another Mummy out there who might be having a summer shorts issue at the start of school, but a closet full of jeans ;-)

Well Patey, since your dirt magnet likes to hang out with my dirt magnets I have the same problem. Somehow my son has only managed to get grass stain on all of his white shirts and my daughter only wore her play shorts. I don't believe my children will fit into any of their jeans from last year.

To solve the dirt (and rock and metal) magnet problem my mother would always get the handmedowns from the boy who lived down the street to wear if I outgrew the clothing that had been bought for me the previous Christmas.
Everyone with sleeping problems should teach small children or take care of them all day.
