What a GORGEOUS day!!!!

Postby HRHPatey » Mon, 31 Aug 2009 15:30:38 GMT

Even though I have been sat working all day, I have done so with all the windows open and the most super breeze circulating through the House :D

I had got to the point that having the windows closed was really getting me (wah wah!) so the joy is truly mine today!!

I understand that throughout the course of the week the temps will start to rise again in the afternoons, but at least I can open and ventilate in the mornings! LOL

Roll on fall !

Had the window fans going Sat./Sunday morning and it got so cold I wouldn't come out from under the covers to shut/turn off and had light sweats on after church and today. I was smart enough to shut most of the windows and turn the fans off last night so as not to threaten an imminent move to the south.

This was the summer that fizzled as well as seemingly being over by July! :( Fall is OK but the after effects are brutal! :o

Fall is the greatest season there is. I would be happy with temps that stayed between 49 and 69 year round.
Everyone with sleeping problems should teach small children or take care of them all day.

Oooh! you and me both cfg! although I'd maybe lower that to 65 - then it would be perfect

I like fresh air and light breezy days....... I must say that been born and raised in England, I became accustomed to early dark nights in fall (I recall coming home from School at about 4 ish and it already being dark) so there is an element of comfort (for want of a better term) when it is cooler and darker evenings. Dinner and pj's and I'm in heaven!! 8)

49 & 69... ahhh heaven!!!! That is what I miss most about living in California. Where we were, it averaged 50's at night and 70 during the day - all year long. Our utility bills were next to nothing. Didn't even have A/C and the furnace just sat there taking up space. The hottest time of the year was Sept/Oct but always an ocean breeze. June gloom was ugly but it was nice to look in the closet and not see a coat, gloves, or scarf. I could be sitting on the beach and staring back at snow on the mountains. Or I could be picking up sand dollars after breakfast and then building a snowman 2 hours later.

These past few days have been wonderful and one of my favorite things about living here is jumping in the car and taking a nice drive in the country. There are so many back roads to travel and little things to see. We get out quite often. Of course, it has been wonderful FLYING WEATHER <hint hint> Even got the OK to buy a plane of my own but alas no one to teach me....

Those native to this area know, September and early October is the best weather of the year, if you like moderate to temperate conditions. This year has been a little unusual with the rain, for that generally comes with remnants of hurricanes and tropical storms and this moisture will keep us mowing on a regular basis.

It appears we are heading into the more typical weather pattern for this time of year with warm sunny days and modestly cool nights.
