Some Monroe businesses were closing their doors to patrons around 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, as a water main puncture caused limited access to water.
A contractor working on the site of Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe hit a water main that had not been turned off, according to city officials. The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m.
Water was shut off on the south side of Ohio 63 off Interstate 75, where the new shopping mall is under construction, said City Manager William Brock. Some of the businesses located there include Gold Star Chili, Wendy’s and Burger King.
City officials said they hope to have water restored in the area by 3 p.m. Wednesday.
