Wal-Mart to offer $10 toys for holidays

Postby HRHPatey » Thu, 01 Oct 2009 08:43:10 GMT

Every little helps - unfortunately not anything my Children would be interested in ..... they normally are in the $50 + range

Every year I do the Black Friday shopping - it's crazy insane, but I have saved SO much money and found myself close to completion by December 1st !!

Wal-Mart wants to help you and Santa make your kids' holiday wish list work with your budget.

The company announced it will dedicate an entire section of its Toy Departments to toys that will cost $10 or less. Throughout the holiday season, you'll find 100 toys that sell for 10 bucks.

Wal-Mart started Toys for $10 last year, and the combination of its popularity and consumers' concerns about the economy, led it to expand the campaign for this holiday season.

Some examples of what you'll find:

-New Transformers 2 Deluxe Action Figures

-Barbie Cut & Style Rapunzel

-Little Dreams Interactive Baby Doll

-My Little Pony So Soft Newborn

-LEGO Bionicle Legends Set

-Clean-Up Pup Barbie Play Set & Mermaid Splash & Style Barbie

The $10 toys are not limited time offers and Wal-Mart says it will continue its price match guarantee to meet any local competitor's prices. Wal-Mart is also reducing prices on some toys 20-50%.

There is nothing on my son's list under $50 - $75. He wants a Wii, so that's $250 right there (I did see where they have slashed the price on them, but I have not seen that yet in the stores).

He wants a Wii plus 5 games, 2 controllers, 2 controllers for one of his other game systems, 2 Nintendo DS games, and a "nice" video camera. Needless to say, he is going to be a disappointed little boy Chrismas morning because I believe that the Wii games are $50 - $75 each. I have no idea how much those control pads are, but the others are $30/ea and I'm not buying him a "Nice" video camera. The other small things he asked for, he will get. Of course, they always get some clothes (I know, boring).

My daughter, bless her heart, never asks for much. Usually the week before Christmas, I take her shopping and I have to MAKE her pick things out because she just doesn't want much. She will ask for 2 or 3 CD's and that's it and she has always been that way.

Ooooh! Sounds like my Son also :-) Last year on Christmas Eve he decided to share his 'wish list' (THE NIGHT BEFORE!!!!!) well, as luck would have it, Father Christmas had taken it upon himself to have at least a bit of an insight to Lil Dudes and their toys

My Daughter's tastes are very expensive.... we have been very fortunate in choosing gifts that have served over time (with a few exceptions  ) Oh how I wish I were still in the Barbie / Lego age - life was so much easier
