Wake Nation Cincinnati will host the 2009 USA Wakeboard Cable National Championships on July 30-Aug. 1.

The wake park in Fairfield is one of seven cable wake parks in the United States, according to a news release. Participants can wakeboard, water ski and kneeboard while being pulled around a lake by a cable system, in lieu of a motorboat.

The championships will include 75 athletes who will vie for spots on the U.S. team. The team will compete in the 2010 IWSF World Cable Championships in Neubrandenberg, Germany.

Admission to the primary and final rounds is $10, with children age 5 and under admitted free, Wake Nation said.

The wakeboarding competition is part of the Board, Surf and Cable Nationals being hosted in Cincinnati and Dayton during the week, according to the news release.
