Security Bulletins Warn of Terrorism Plot

I tend to not be an alarmist by nature, so I find these 'alerts' a bit misguiding, notably to those who read them and become scared, however, that said, no harm in offering a 'heads up.'

~ I always bare in the back of my mind that before such information is ever released to the general public, it has been through a process of screening, appraising and scrutiny by those who can actually make a difference.
ooh! Lest we forget, if you still have those boxes under your beds with eight days worth of supplies .....

WKRC Reports:
WASHINGTON (AP) - Counterterrorism officials have issued security bulletins to police around the nation about terrorist interest in attacking stadiums, entertainment complexes and hotels - the latest in a flurry of such internal warnings as investigators chase a possible bomb plot in Denver and New York.

In the two bulletins - sent to police departments Monday and obtained by The Associated Press - officials said they know of no specific plots against such sites, but urged law enforcement and private companies to be vigilant.

These two bulletins followed on the heels of a similar warning about the vulnerabilities of mass transit systems. The bulletin on stadiums notes that an al-Qaida training manual specifically lists "blasting and destroying the places of amusement, immorality, and sin... and attacking vital economic centers" as desired targets of the organization.

"While DHS and FBI have no information regarding the timing, location or target of any planned attack, we believe it is prudent to remind transit authorities to remain vigilant," Homeland Security spokesman Sean Smith said Monday night. Separately, law enforcement officials said a Colorado man may have been planning with others to detonate backpack bombs on New York City trains in a terrorism plot similar to past attacks on London's and Madrid's mass-transit systems.

I think we are at a low point in intelligence capibility and have proclaimed such to the world that we are kind, gentle and weak and our brave personnel have had the rug "yanked" from under them and are afraid to do anything beyond giving the bad guys a "time out" due to AG Holder's brilliant move to hold all actions accountable in a strickly vindictive political move to appease the left and bring the big bad U.S. to it's knees!!! We are in a very dangerous time! What are they going to say WHEN we are attacked? "We read the bad guys their rights and tried our best not to hurt anyone's feelings or cause any stress during interrogation"

Bring back waterboarding!!!!!

Off the cuff comment here, Guys, please forgive me ...

But I see the review of the CIA actions very detrimental to future endeavors regarding National Security..... The internal investigations were carried out and people were admonished or cleared. To re investigate, is indicative of a disbelief in the 'system.' Invariably it hangs a huge pointer over those being scrutinized and to the International Community it suggests that we (LOL) can and will, undermine those who have secured knowledge and bring them to their knees each and every time the torch is passed along....... We have seen previously that a lapse in faith can be catastrophic to personnel and to information being passed along.

I am so perplexed by actions and explanations ~ it is peculiar to me (maybe lack of knowledge drives this.. LOL) But I recall after 911 reading about those who had filed law suits against Bin Laden, Al Qaeda etc... it took my breath away ... were there really People out there who felt that this course of action would EVER make a difference??? Did they suppose that Bin Laden (or whomever) would think " Jeesch, I have a law suit against me, I need to lawyer up" ~ The BIGGEST mistake is assuming that outside of Western civilization, no one gives a hoot or holler ..... You cannot fight / address/ understand/ bargain with or assume level pegging with anyone who does not share or at the very least comprehend the term JUSTICE through the same eyes that you do.....

Many of these individuals we label 'Terriorists' are fighting their cause.... To offer up their souls in martyrdom is the desired end result .... you / we can't 'beat' that ....

The US fights itself... law suits, investigations, internal indigestion  ....... and the 'bad guys' roam freely...
they couldn't care less whether the Attorney General appointed by the sitting President is investigating whether some laws, by laws, human civilities were broken... they are simply out there looking for the next opportunity :x

Okay - so obviosuly I have some unresolved issues    I'll go back to making my Chicken pot pie - I'm far better suited to cooking than attempting to understand politics

Patey, you are either one of us :) (middle to right logical /intuition) or you have been converted to reality. Saving untold lives by enticing Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to spill the beans and break down to allow us to capture or kill 95% of the known enemy at the time was no accident, nor a bad thing even if we might have permanently hurt his "feelings". The high % of released Cuban captives taking up arms for a second time and attempting to kill us speakes volumes of the intent and ideology we are fighting.

Obama should have never let Holder take up this initiative and our blood is on this administrations hands. :x
Seven former CIA heads from both Democrat and Republican Presidents sending a letter to Obama saying this is very, very wrong should be sufficent to change course. All adminstations have a learning curve, but this one goes far beyond that to being amateurish.

Waterboarding is not cruel and unusual, but beheading and the like makes it seem like a trip to The Beach Water Park. :D  :o

LOL! Not sure if I am a conversion or a :) just a Lady with an opinion 8)

When I was growing up, myself and my elder sister did not get along ..... I could very well have told her how it hurt my feelings, how unfair it was, how devastated I was each time we had a set to... would that have prevented her (us) from fighting???? No ! not at all.. I couldn't 'fight' her, she was bigger, more powerful and exponentially better equipped..... so I choose the route that would suit an ends to a means...
My sister had a weakness, she was vain beyond all belief.... I exploited that.... I believe over the course of a year she had worms, nits, BO, picked her nose, etc..... sounds childish and stupid??? Sure it does BUT IT WORKED !!!! I had tapped into something that hit her hard, hurt and demolished her spirit ..... I had found the 'level pegging' of it all. (So not proud of that BTW!!)

Crazy analogy (and must note that she didn't have nits, worms, Bo etc...) the 'better option' would naturally be for a white flag waving, sit down and talk, discuss and camaraderie .... but that was tried, tested and failed ... the initial reason for our fighting became lost and became nothing short of controlled power moves, it was the upper hand, it was flexing muscle and finding a place that would be MOST EFFECTIVE.... Outside influences (Parents ~ lets call them Armed forces, Lawyers, UN) no longer had a say or better put 'influence', they could apply restrictions (let's call them sanctions) they could advise of future consequences (lets call those Desert Storm, etc) but they were each proven to be ineffective....... the weakness was found, exploited which ultimately lead to an understanding.... lets call that 'interrogation' ......

- Okay, so probably not a need for this entry of inane drivvel .... I was attempting to make a point.... I am not a person who would suggest torture as acceptable....actually hurts my heart, but then again, I am also not foolish enough to believe that being complacently honorable will save your butt when armed with a paper mache sword in a gun fight

There are at least three court cases and four occurances today for "alleged terrorists" which have been stopped by homeland security officials! The plots appeared to be more widespread and the main thing that saved lives were the skill levels of those making the IED's and their inability to successfully get them to work! :o

Hats off to apprehending these guys. Still with so much activity, everyone must stay viligant and it is really unknown how widespread the conspiracy. :x
