Oh boy! What weather :o

Been busy, busy girl, and continuing to be! But, what the helicopter is going on with the weather today???? I was awakened by the storms that hit this am and as I type, am sitting watching the flashes and listening to the rumbles continuing - Jeepers!

I will say that I was relieved for the rain (initially) omitted to water the plants last Evening - not a concern any longer..

I do appreciate a good storm and it appears that I have the luxury of watching from the comfort of my Home.. I have read the reports about flooding and such, always a concern, especially for those who have to travel around. Do take care if you're out and about!!

I think we've gone well past raining cats and dogs to hamsters that poop in your hand. No wait, that was the dog who pooped on my patio. He hates getting his paws wet.

I am thankful though that my backyard neighbor has a place to drain his runoff. NOT! If anyone sees a 2700 sq ft house floating toward Bridle Creek, or down the hill to a certain Councilman's house, that'll be me!

I looked out my window this morning and saw a small river running between my house and my neighbor. At one point and time the water was about 5 inches deep. Both of our downspouts aim at approximately the same area so this has been a regular occurance any time we have heavy rain. The nice part is that as soon as the rain is gone so is the river. Leaving only really wet grass.

does this rain pose a problem to farmers? Usually, in the summer, field corn turns brown and the ears are picked while really dry. Does all this rain create a possible "root rot" on the field corn?

It's great for our grass, but it's not normal for July/August.
