Actually I was wearing my seatbelt! I normally do if I'm driving over 35mph, especially in the convertible. I always wear one while driving in Tennessee or Florida, no matter what the speed - those people are crazy!

I know the risks and dangers and take full responsibility if pulled over. I'll just tell the officer this is my Primary Law: "I don't wear my seatbelt, but I like having the ability to do so whenever I feel a need to strangle myself and cut off the flow of blood to my brain."

I'm not sure why it's a problem that you can be pulled over for not wearing your seatbelt :?

Just wear your seat belt...?

C&C I understand your seat belt frustration, being only 5ft tall when using a 'regular' seat belt it does cut into my neck also. Our Minivan has the adapter to the seat belt which enables me to lower the base and therefore take it away from my neck.

I must tell you that just a short while ago I was in a nasty car accident, and if it were not for my seat belt I would have been seriously injured. The bruising across my chest incorporated the material pattern of the shirt I was wearing  and I still hit the dash with my knees (even though I had scooted the seat way back from the dash)
The impact of the crash set off the airbags (which subsequently exploded in my face)

The most valuable lesson I learned here was BECAUSE of being 5ft tall I had MORE reason to wear a seat belt, the airbag deploying in my face would have hit me at the base of my chin (rather than the nose, eyes) if I hadn't been held back by the seat belt. I have read horror stories where children sitting in the passenger seat have been decapitated by the airbag deploying..... I understood how this could happen after the accident.

I know it seams a hassle and I understand the height factor, but you are way too valuable to take any risks !!

ADH,
My problem isn't with wearing seatbelts or even being told to wear seatbelts. My problem is a high-ranking Law Enforcement Officer lying to the people of Ohio. What else has his office lied about?
Sorry for hyjacking the thread (kind-of)
I taught him everything I know and he's still stupid. I don't understand it!!!
