OMG!! How deplorable !

One can't assume that the thieves knew that the Family were not at home at the time, or indeed where they might be, however, the act alone is horrendous especially when knowing that this Family were already facing life changing grief.

WLWT Report:
WAYNESVILLE -- Authorities in Warren County are looking for thieves who broke into a home while the family of a 2-year-old was at a funeral home preparing for the boy's services.

The sheriff's office said Levi Jones died and his father Ryan was injured in an ATV accident last week. Deputies said the family was at a Waynesville funeral home with the body when their home was burglarized last Friday.

Family members said the burglars got by two dogs and broke in the back door. They took an antique gun and some jewelry.

Detectives called the break-in at the home of a grieving family appalling.

I hate to say this, but this really is fairly common.
The Obits list times for funerals and visitations. Thieves read the paper and see who's died. They get an address from the phone book, then show up while the family is at the services.
Any time someone has died in my family (or a friend/neighbor), we've had someone offer to miss the services and house-sit. When my dad passed away 21 years ago, I remember all of us getting ready for the funeral. the phone rang and I answered it but nobody replied. Then they hung up. Was it coincidence or someone "casing" our house? We'll never know...
As a recommendation, We would alll be better served to offer condolences and services to the grieving family. Offering to house-sit for a couple of hours can make a real difference.
I taught him everything I know and he's still stupid. I don't understand it!!!
