Anyone else been keeping up with this story? If so you know there's been a new twist in the case. Not surprising though.

Your thoughts?

I have been

I was watching Nancy Grace last night and she was BRUTAL - I hated the way she was handling Ronald Cummings, badgering him and almost inciting him to be angry/defensive about his Wife.

Frankly, I have never thought that it was as cut and dried as Misty would have everyone believe, however, when you watch so many news shows where the Parent 'figure' is responsible that it really doesn't surprise me ...

I really hope that they find this little girl, maybe a foolish wish, but 'hopefully' alive !

I missed that part. I kept seeing them say he was going to speak, but all I seen was the plea for calls. Guess I turned it on a little late.

I'm with you. I pray they find her "somewhere" alive. So many drugs and other things involved...just maybe...someone has her for whatever reason and will find a way to return her.

Just hoping and praying......

Now off subject here but I didn't want to start a new topic because I do not remember this childs name.

Do you remember a year or so ago where a little boy in Florida came up missing?
Everything pointed to the mother, who was very young, and I remember she put a shot gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger.
Seems like the boys name may have been Trevor? (not sure) At the time they thought she might have sold him overseas. They also showed his dad who was cleared of any wrong doing and said he would never stop searching. I haven't heard anything about this case since, and just can't get it out of my mind.

I don't believe there ever was a follow up on that story Brandy...... I know the one you are talking about.

Very sad that many of these Children are never found

Patey...have you been watching the latest? I'm sure you probably have.

Misty's brother saying he went over around 10ish pounding on the door and no lights on, no one answering. That blows her story of putting them to bed early, waking up to go to the bathroom and seeing a light on. Only her and whoever, knows what time she actually came home. And I believe when she did...she didn't have Haleigh with her. JMO

The note saying Haleigh had overdosed on oxycotin? I tend to agree with the grandmother that there's no way she would have eaten enough of this to kill her. I would "think" if she did put that in her mouth she would have spit it out. The taste is just awful and I can't imagine a child eating that like candy.

Misty's own mother doesn't believe her. Maybe there's some bad blood (so to speak) between the 2 of them? At the same time she was probably around Haleigh a lot herself, knows her daughter better than most, and wants Haleigh found. This family obviously has some issues.

Now we have the letter that was dropped off at the newspaper telling the police where to look. Another hoax by someone trying to get attention? Who knows. If she were to be alive...I would pray it be true. Of course you know what I pray if she's not.

I have continously prayed every night and day they will find her alive. But after 7 months? Miracles do happen. We seen this with Elizabeth Smart. These people have been pretty good at keeping so many secrets for so long...one can only pray.

Your thoughts on all that has happened lately?

Haleigh Cummings Mother does not have custody of her and evidently hasn't for some time.... again to bring Nancy Grace, but when interviewed by her NG was asking basic questions, "what time does School finish?" "Who was the actual known last person (other than Misty) to see Haleigh?" none of which could the Mother answer..... (whoops, I just reread and realise that you are talking about Misty's Mother!! )

Latest and greatest.... now Misty's mother has been arrested on felony forgery charges and faces expedition from TN to Fla...

The note was written by a young lady writing to her boyfriend from jail. It has been constantly suggested that she (note author) had no gain from writing this ..... but I do have to wonder if you had this information and known facts about a missing child, why you wouldn't have told all and everyone? If the fear was self incrimination, (or that of a friend) yet the incident supposedly happened at a party, wouldn't you suspect that a ton of other people knew about/witnessed this also????

I believe most people would have noticed a 5 year old at a Party........ even if they didn't really register it but then saw the stories about Haleigh on the news etc., why wouldn't someone have stepped forward before and at least claimed the $70,000 reward?

At the end of the day, this little girl is still missing., Last known person to see her has taken off, most of 'her' Family have been arrested and questioned for 'unrelated' issues and a note written from jail is evidently becoming credible ...... Haleigh really doesn't stand a chance does she??

You are so correct Brandy, you always have to have faith and believe in miracles.... I know that there are many who are praying for this little girl, I can't help but feel that might be a pointless at this juncture, but I do believe and pray that something/someone will break and Haleigh will be brought home,, one way or another

Sorry I brought this back up and have been so long in my response ;)

I too have been keeping updated on this by watching Nancy Grace. Seems she's the only one that has been giving us any information.

As far as Misty's mom goes, I've yet to hear much since they arrested her. Only the fact she believes Misty is not telling the whole story. Which by now I think we all know.

I did take note of this new development as well, and wonder the same thing. It's a "given" they are hiding whatever happened that night. To think they have been able to hide all this for 7 months now, just boggles my mind?
Unless, whatever happened to Haleigh, happened AFTER misty might have left this party with both the children?

I believe most people would have noticed a 5 year old at a Party........ even if they didn't really register it but then saw the stories about Haleigh on the news etc., why wouldn't someone have stepped forward before and at least claimed the $70,000 reward?

Again, this is a mind blower. Which still makes me wonder if she did whatever she did "after" she left?
I do like to hear any tidbit of new information that gets thrown our way. But I will say I do tend to get annoyed when we see just a very few minutes of something new to the case, and the rest of the hour devoted to everything that has been going on for months. I "assume" she does this for people who may not have seen these other segments....but still...
I would also like to see her "update" this reward. It still shows on TV as $30,000, when we know and keep hearing it's actually $70,000.
The people involved in this party, etc...I am "assuming" could use this kind of money. Well actually, who couldn't? So this is why (and I could be wrong) I "think" Misty is the ONLY one who really knows what happened that night in it's entirety, and she's been very tight lipped about it.

At the end of the day, this little girl is still missing., Last known person to see her has taken off, most of 'her' Family have been arrested and questioned for 'unrelated' issues and a note written from jail is evidently becoming credible ...... Haleigh really doesn't stand a chance does she??

As much as I hate to think so...no I don't think she does stand a chance. Last night I watched and they said Misty has returned and they would like to re question her. What's up with that? Why didn't they already have her in there once she returned, to be questioned? This makes no since.

You are so correct Brandy, you always have to have faith and believe in miracles.... I know that there are many who are praying for this little girl, I can't help but feel that might be a pointless at this juncture, but I do believe and pray that something/someone will break and Haleigh will be brought home,, one way or another

Yes, I too am at the point where I hope she will be found soon, one way or the other. This family has already been through so much, and God only knows what lies ahead.

On another note: I find it very strange that Ronald still seems to be in denial over Misty. I think when all is done and said, and his eyes are finally opened, this is going to be doubly hard on him. Haleigh, first and formost, and then the thoughts he married this girl....

When I submitted my reply, I thought it would show up differently than it did or I would have used a different "font color."

Now you'll need to carefully, read between the lines...sorry ;)

I believe it was because you used the 'quote' option rather than copy and paste - I'll take a peek :-)

Awwwwww Brandy .....

Did you see Ronald's Mother back on NG and once again defending this young lady ?????????? I cannot imagine how this Family are making through each day.... I have also seen them all say that regardless of who holds responsibility, they are desiring that the full strength of the law is applied when caught ... My question is who is telling the truth and who is simply floating on a wing and a prayer?????

The one aspect that really has me perplexed is that Misty Croslin is 17 years old, she has been exhaustively interviewed , polygraphed and held up against it all ...... Without being intentionally mean spirited, Misty is not (seemingly) super intelligent (Golly, cringing as I type) nor is she (again, seemingly) a manipulative young Lady .... I really do have concerns on that level ..... I cannot accept that a team of long standing Detectives and affiliated interrogators would be unable to entice a young lady to 'accidently' say something.....

Still pondering and most assuredly, still praying ....

Yes. My heart just breaks for her. :( I'm a grandmother myself...and I just couldn't imagine.....

Since the rest of them have been polygraphed and all have passed, I'm "assuming" all BUT Misty are telling the truth.
Unfortunatelly, I feel they all might be floating on a wing and a prayer now :(

This I can understand as well. My thoughts are, if there were so many drugs involved at the time, who knows what she was on and how this contributed to what happened with Haleigh? Oxycotin is such a powerful drug, and IF she was "snorting" (ewww) that or whatever, and had taken or smoked other drugs, I believe she could have been so scared by whatever really happened to Haleigh, that at the time, being so stoned (if in fact she was) she could have done anything at that point to get us to the point were we are today. But still I don't see how a 17 yr old could have did whatever she did and the police STILL have nothing??

I cannot accept that a team of long standing Detectives and affiliated interrogators would be unable to entice a young lady to 'accidently' say something.....

Nor can I. It's beyond my comprehension.

Still pondering and most assuredly, still praying ....

I'm "with you"...on both accounts...

Note: I remembered to change the font color this time but looking at the preview I didn't see it. Next time I won't break in to the sentences. ;)
