Only in Kentucky !!! Actually on a serious note, I can't imagine why this Mother was unaware of the baptism. As I read this story, it suggests that other Parents were aware... I would be upset only if this was done without my consent and frankly, wouldn't you want to be the person organizing and attending your child's baptism??
Having a lawyer might show a defensive stance, but at the end of the day I believe this Mother should have discussed this with her Son, (he evidently agreed to be baptized!) and at 16 (minors) why wouldn't there be some form of better communication with the Adults chaperoning and all parents.

HARDINSBURG, Ky. (AP) -- A Breckinridge County woman says her 16-year-old son was taken on a school bus with other football players to a church revival and baptized without her knowledge.
Michelle Ammons says she's upset about the event last month and that school superintendent Janet Meeks attended the service and didn't object.
Ammons says she has consulted a lawyer but hasn't decided what action to take.
Ammons' son, Robert Coffey, told The Courier-Journal that Coach Scott Mooney told him and other players the outing would include a motivational speaker and a free steak dinner.
But two other parents say their sons told them that Mooney had said the voluntary outing would include a revival.
Mooney says school district officials told him not to comment.
Meeks, the school superintendent, says she thinks the trip was OK because no one was required to go and fuel for the bus was paid for by another coach.
Meeks says eight or nine of the players were baptized.
