Monroe Chat

The Optimist Club of the Monroe Area is planning this community event, and would like to invite you and your organization to participate. We feel there is a need for a community involvement affair, and Christmas would be a great time to bring us all together!

We have scheduled a committee meeting for Wednesday, August 8th at 7:00PM at the James Monroe Community Room. The purpose of said meeting is to establish a planning committee for this event. Christmas on the Plaza would be a great way to join all organizations, churches, groups, etc. in a community wide effort to celebrate the holidays, and camaraderie of all peoples in Monroe. A tentative date for the event is Saturday, December 8, 2007.

Some ideas for Christmas on the Plaza celebration include tree lighting, choir performances, food and craft booths, carriage rides, and much more! Perhaps your group has a specialty or an idea to help contribute to make this a memorable occasion.

We need YOU to make this a successful endeavor! Please plan to have a representative from your group attend this initial meeting to get in on the groundbreaking committee formation. We are “Optimisticâ€
