I got a chuckle out of this! To put a mannequin outside is a bit cheesy, but obviously served a PR purpose, an effective one at that.. I don't believe that I would be so bothered about her (unless I lived next door!) lmbo

Reading's Board of Zoning Appeals ruled Monday night that Bar Be Q, a “well-endowed” female mannequin, will be allowed to wear her skimpy bikini top and Daisy Duke cut-off jeans outside KT's Barbecue restaurant.



"I'm really happy," said Kenny Tessel, KT's owner.

In May the Reading design review board told Tessel that Bar Be had to cover up

"The first time I saw Bar Be, driving past, I thought it was a hooker on the corner," said Wanda Broerman, who wanted the earlier ruling to stand.

Tessel says that what was once a struggling business is now a tourist attraction of sorts, bringing customers to Reading from all over the country.

The company from which he bought the mannequin renamed the model to Bar Be. In addition Tessel receives outfits for Bar Be to wear.

"Since she's been outside I've had new customers every day for an average of five per day," explained Tessel.

From here Tessel says that Bar Be will wear seasonally appropriate clothing.

He plans to put Bar Be in long johns come winter.
