Burned AK Employee

Postby Bob Kelley » Sun, 20 Sep 2009 22:21:12 GMT

Many of you heard that a man had fallen into scalding fluid at AK Steel and was pulled out by a co-worker. Many of you I am sure do not realize the guy who saved the man is a Monroe resident. Scott Stout pulled the co-worker from the pit and took steps to treat him with a burn gel as he was trained to do. I was told today that the man he saved was going to be back to work soon and because Scott thought quickly, he will not have to go through any skin graphs and may not have any permanent effects.

Hats off to Scott for being quick to act, quick thinking and not afraid to help his fellow man.

Great Job Scott!

How fantastic !!!! It is amazing to really consider how very different this situation could've been.... burns and associated issues are some of the absolute most painful of injuries...

Thank you for posting this Bob - it's so wonderful to be able to celebrate Scott !!!
