Body scan or aggresive body frisk?

Postby HRHPatey » Thu, 31 Dec 2009 13:57:26 GMT

I keep hearing this debate and am quite unsure why it is causing such a stir!

A Man attempted to blow up an airplane .... had he initially been prevented from airtravel none of this would be an issue :x However, in light of the fact that he did board and then attempted to inject a chemical into a package strapped to his inner thigh, jeeesch!! The discussion COULD have been about 300 + people dead.

Why would a body scan be such an issue if it facilitated air security? Fox News were asking passengers awaiting flights which they would prefer, a body scan or an aggressive body frisk, surprisingly many suggested that they would prefer the body frisk verses the scan because they felt the latter was an invasion of privacy - GOOD GRACIOUS PEOPLE!!!!!

Civil liberties and rights to privacy are completely irrelevant to would be terrorists with a desire to kill innocent people.

Off my soap box now
"I traveled among unknown men,
In lands beyond the sea:
Nor England! Did I know till then
What love I bore to thee."

The one thing that bums me about this is that the US Security is going to be a pain in the a$$.....due to an international flight. It wasn't our security that messed up.....it was another countries. :x

I watched a former top security official with El-Al and it was interesting he said they have never done this nor would they ever consider this as it would be the ultimate insult to the both Arab and Jewish cultures.

He went on to indicate that what is needed is getting rid of the political correctness from the left and use some common sense approces that we seem to be afraid of offending someone!!

Makes sense to me as they have many more wanting to kill them than we do and they havn't had a successful terrorist attack inover 30 years!!

Our security failed to the point that heads should roll. When a terrorists father warns you months in advance and you do nothing...........we are very lucky 300+ arn't dead and probably the only thing that prevented it was a Dutch hero who jumped accross seats to take this guy out before he could get the thing to work. Janet Napolitano is a national disgrace and just one of the weakness within.
