800K Doses Of Swine Flu Vaccine Recalled

800,000 doses - who has what and where it went appears to be a bit blurry :x

"Don't think" Oh My!!!

!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

WCPO Reports:
ATLANTA (AP) -- Health officials are recalling hundreds of thousands of doses of swine flu vaccine after tests indicated they may not be potent enough to protect against the virus.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention notified doctors about the recall Tuesday. The recall involves about 800,000 doses made by Sanofi Pasteur. The doses are pre-filled syringes intended for young children, ages 6 months to almost three years.

Health officials recommend children those ages get two doses, spaced about a month apart.

Health officials say it's not clear how many doses have already been given, but they don't think children need to be re-vaccinated.

The lots passed potency tests when they were first shipped, but tests indicate the potency waned after.

That's nice. The Government got in a big hurry to put out these vaccines and see what happened? There's more to come, with Congress rushing to pass budgets and health care "reform".
Just plain scary, and I'm happy that my family and I opted out of the vaccines!!!

I also did not choose to go ahead with the flushots and pray that I don't regret the decision, however, after reading that yesterday I must say that I was rather surprised at the "don't think children need to be re-vaccinated" statement. If you do re vaccinate are they susceptible to an overdose of sorts? Or, if you choose not to, might the initial vaccination have proved to be worthless??? Either way you look at this, the fact that there is an element of doubt (especially for Children) is most disconcerting to me.

Additionally, the whereabouts, numbers and obvious lack in tracing where 800,000 flu shots went to, is alarming for me. One would assume that the ball was significantly dropped... we are talking about vaccinations for 6mos to 3 year old Children and the potency is in question after the fact.... what else could be in question?
