How wonderful ~ when we read of daily hardships, it is stories such as this that lift the spirits of all.

The fund will enable 16 young People to attend camp and as we all know, the experiences gained will enable oodles of fun for these Children. May they in turn pay it forward ..

Sixteen students in the Northwest School District will attend YMCA's Camp Ernst this summer thanks to the Andrew's Kids to Camp Scholarship Fund.

The family of Andrew Fischer, a Colerain High School senior who died in an accident four years ago, set up the fund to raise money to send kids in Northwest schools to camp. An Eagle Scout, Andrew loved to rock climb, cave, swim, fish and make friends at summer camp.

"We really wanted to do something to honor Andrew and this is the perfect way," said his mother, Lois.
With the help of staffers at the Clippard Family YMCA, the Fischer family raised enough money to send eight kids to camp in 2007 and 11 last year. Many of them had never been to camp.
"It's a good feeling to know Andrew's memory is making a positive impact on the lives of other young people," Lois Fischer said.
"I traveled among unknown men,
In lands beyond the sea:
Nor England! Did I know till then
What love I bore to thee."
