11 Y/O Girl Killed in Motorcycle Crash

I personally don't like motorcycles, but understand each person has the freedom to make the choice of riding one for themselves. I'm very much against a child riding on a motorcycle. However, my thoughts are with this family and especially with the grandfather. :(

CINCINNATI -- Services were held for an 11-year-old girl who was killed while riding a motorcycle with her grandfather.

Mikeala Little was killed when a truck pulled out in front of her grandfather's motorcycle.

Her family said its still coming to terms with its loss.

"Mikeala was the kind of kid where she was always worried about how everyone else felt, how you were feeling, what you were thinking. That's always the way she was," Little's stepfather, Dan Pence, said.

Her stepfather said that the family is no stranger to loss as Little's father was buried on nearly the same day she died, 10 years prior.

"It's been really tough on them. They lose their dad, then turn around and one of the girls is gone," Pence said. "Emotionally, our lives will never be the same. If you have kids at home, go and put your arms around them."

The community is rallying behind the family to help pay for the costs of Little's funeral.

A fundraiser will be held on July 12 at the Mad Hatter bar in Covington, Ky. Little's brother and his band are hosting a concert.

A $5 cover charge will be asked for at the door, and donations will also be accepted. Donations can also be made at any Fifth Third Bank under Little's name.
I was blessed with a birth and a death, and I guess I just want some say in between.

I agree ADH. I wouldn't feel safe with a Child on a motorcycle... however, as you said, the Family and their grief is paramount at this time. How incredibly sad!
