Price to leave Middletown... What does that mean for Monroe?

Postby ursosju25 » Thu, 04 Jun 2009 10:05:31 GMT

I have heard through the grapevine that the district will pursue Dr. Lollli. You heard it here first! Will she be interested is something I don't know. I think if the money is right then she may listen... We shall see...

MIDDLETOWN — The Middletown Board of Education has approved a separation agreement with Superintendent Steve Price.

The board voted on the agreement at a special meeting this morning, June 4.

Board President Greg Tyus was absent from the meeting because he is out of town.

Price’s last day with the district will be July 31. He has been with Middletown schools since 2001.

In recent months, he has applied for positions with two urban Ohio school districts, Cincinnati and Springfield, but was not selected. He has also applied with Beavercreek City Schools

FYI: It does look like the school will pursue Lolli as the next super of Middletown City Schools. Highly reliable sources! The teachers and school board want her from what I know.

Is it likely that Dr. Lolli would consider such a move ??? If so, what would that mean for MLS ??

Reliable sources?? Not just scuttlebutt, I trust ?

She does have a lot of history with the district. She is already relocated in the area so location makes little or no difference, she knows what she has to work with here school board wise, that may or may not be a plus or minus in her thinking. Both schools seem to fight uphill battles all the time so the level of drama has to be about the same.

Given all that I think she would be foolish not to at least consider it if they offered.

Monroe has problems, but fixes for these problems are within reach. Middletown's problems are beyond the capability of just one superintendent. I believe several will come and go before any progress is noted. So wouldn't it be better for Lolli to stay put and make a name for herself with a more promising district?
