Homecoming bonfire injury

Postby monroegardener » Fri, 02 Oct 2009 12:27:59 GMT

Got a call from the elementary school via the calling system that reported an injury at the bonfire due to insufficient parental oversight.

I understand that parents feel like the school has sufficient control over the kids in a classroom, but why would anyone expect that their children, especially the elementary aged ones, could be simply left on their own at a bonfire pep rally???
This time, like all times, is a very good one, if we but know what to do with it. -Ralph Waldo Emerson, writer and philosopher (1803-1882)

It amazes me as well. Have you ever been to a Monroe Football game? Until this year(because of a call to all parents) the younger students would just run wild the whole game. It's like parents figure the fence is like a cage and give 'em a few bucks and send them on their way until the game ends. I always felt like someone was going to get hurt there - especially under the bleachers.

I hope the injury wasn't serious and all is ok with the student, I just wish parents would reign them in a little more.

Good Gracious........ I am rather saddened that it took a phone call from the School to remind Parents to supervise their children - OI VEY!!!!! I rather think those who have cause to shake their heads at the implication are also those to whom this message was NOT intended ......

I so hope that the Child is okay and not seriously injured .....

For goodness sakes - watch over your babies

He broke his collar bone and rumor has it that he was burned (not so sure about the burn part).

He is not supervised even around home.
