Bus Routes

Postby HRHPatey » Tue, 25 Aug 2009 07:40:20 GMT

Good Morning Peeps!

Please be sure to check your postcards received from the Bus (Tranportation) Office. Many of the routes and times have changed from last year.

Notably, the Jr High has a different start/end time!

Have a great day!

Bit of a change here for us this year. One Child getting on at the top of our street, another at the very bottom :x the latter is quite a hike to reach and out of view from my Home. I am 'hoping' that this can be changed (it has done in previous years) whilst I am not bothered about the distance at this time of year, in winter it would be most bothersome!

Bus times are an hour apart, so mornings are going to be super fun!!

Down that hill in winter? [shudder] Just have her walk in the grass. You know how I feel now about black ice. It's nothing to play with.

Bottom of the road is Lil Man :( The Jr High will pick up BG at the usual stop (only it will be at 7:00am)

No way! Really? Just one stop for our street? There are so many kids! Surely there will be a stop up at the top. It just make sense.

It'll probably change. You know how they always end up with one bus and then they end up with a second. How do they go from your house being the stop to putting it at the bottom of the hill?

I don't know

However, although there are many Children on the street, most of them will still be primary, whereas, he will be back at the Elementary this year.

I am still holding out hope or considering whether it would be preferable to walk to the first stop in contrast to the bottom of the hill

The Jr High bus came 9 minutes early !! Thankfully we were already outside and I heard it come around but saw a couple mad dashing to catch it!

With that noted, we are heading out for the Elementary Bus a wee bit earlier, frankly I don't fancy a jog at this time in the morning - my coffee hasn't kicked in yet

so so so glad I don't have to fool with busses in the morning. I have an awesome neighbor who teaches at the high school :D God love her! Of course next year he'll (hopefully) be getting his license (right before school starts)...hmmm, maybe he'll still hitch a ride.....

Glad things went well! It's weird getting my car and DRIVING to the bus stop. Makes no sense! LOL! I could just drop them off at their school, I suppose, but 1. I hate bus/drop off traffic 2. I think the kids should get used to the bus on day one when everyone is nervous about the first day. I'm glad they are able to start off on day one in the same routine that will continue for the year. It can only get easier from here...RIGHT?

I would agree Ellie, having the Children in their routine can only help them (and you) in the long run. Things will change rapidly when you actually move, but they will already be 'en par,' so to speak :)

I am attempting to locate the written Bus stops so that I can see whether there is another bus stop that we can go to for Lil Man (if I can't find one then I'll call the Transportation office)
It is actually a bit more of a trek than I thought it was, additionally, there was'nt a soul at the stop that he was familiar with, I felt so badly for him. As I said previously, I'd rather go to the first stop in our sub division (where at least he knows other little guys) than go back to the bottom of the street again - waah !
