'Southern style' Sweet iced tea

Hubby is a big ole southern boy and really likes Iced Tea. Being English, I only drink tea hot and with milk

Fortunately, my girlfriend is also southern and as Hubby enjoys her tea, I asked her for the recipe ...

Tea for 1 gallon container:

Boil on stovetop or in microwave 5-6 cups of water, (or enough to fill a small saucepan 2/3 full)

Once boiling, place 4-5 regular size tea bags or 2 family size tea bags into water, cover and remove from heat.

Let this sit for a few hours. I will steep my tea some times all day.

Pour your steeped tea, squeezing the tea bags out, into your container, add sugar to taste (I melt my sugar in a little hot water first) and fill the

Container the rest of the way with water, stir well and there you go.

If you find you need to add more sugar, mix it in a little hot water before adding to the cold mixture.

Personally, I prefer Luzianne tea instead of Lipton. Lipton tea seems to turn too dark too soon and doesn’t taste as fresh.

I bet I know who's tea receipe this is!! :P Good to know she prefers Luzianne, too! Reminds me I need to make some - it's supposed to get warm later this week and ah, a nice cold glass of sweet tea will hit the spot.

I used to LOVE sweet tea and hubby grew up drinking iced tea completely unsweetened. I never would have imagined I'd like it that way, but I typically drink it that way now. We don't really use sugar--I'm an Equal fan, but for some reason only have Splenda and Sweet & Low...probably because I'm cheap! :?
I was blessed with a birth and a death, and I guess I just want some say in between.
