Old High School

Postby Brandy » Wed, 08 Jul 2009 14:14:43 GMT

Anyone know what's going on over there? I noticed this morning they were doing something to the track. Will it be left the way it is, or what's the plan?

The old HS stadium, practice facility, and "pit" are going to become soccer fields for the newly formed Cincinnati United - Monroe Soccer Club. There will be 10 teams using those facilities this fall.

Do they have a website?

This is the main website. The Monroe information has not been added yet as this has just happened.

Thanks sportsnut. Now I have another question.

As most know, the track as I call it, has been used for yrs for many people who like to walk. Do you happen to know if they plan to leave this dirt, or add gravel again?

TIA

Well .......

The final decision has not been made about the track as of yet, but there is a pretty good chance it will be eliminated. The field, when built, was built for football and is not wide enough to be a full, regulation size soccer field. We are discussing filling in the track with dirt and seeding it so we can have a regulation field.

Hopefully folks are noticing how nice the stadium and area around it is beginning to look. Just an FYI - the track is now looking great and will continue to be a track for a while.

Keep watching for more changes.
