I would not condone the city staff from sitting around reading the boards to find out of something needs to be fixed. If someone has an issue with something in the city that needs to be fixed, it is best to call 539-7374 and click on option 4 report the issue. If the problem is not fixed then contact the city manager or a council member to look in to it.

If you do not get a response from posting on the board how can you tell if the correct person will read your post and get it fixed? once again if you are truly trying to get the issue corrected, what is the most effeicant way to resovle it? Make a call. Post on the board if you have other motivations, that is pretty simple.

I just opened this thread for the first time and felt a lot of

But, I just wanted to say that I have had the opportunity to speak with Brad Collins on the phone about a question I had and was extremely pleased with the way he handled my questions/concerns.
I was blessed with a birth and a death, and I guess I just want some say in between.

Mr. Douglas (Vwking) Thank you so much for posting!

Having a person with whom issues can be discussed / aired, inclusive of up to date status reports; can only facilitate the concerns many have had. I feel sure those who had concerns, will step forward and show their support with action...

The Community at large is excited by the park.. here's to a successful and fun addition to Monroe!!

Again, Many Thanks :)

Took a long weekend away from the forums...

1. I wasn't living in Monroe in 2005 so I have no idea who wanted what for a future park facility.

2. I wasn't the one who started questioning the BMX track on a public forum. After verifying for myself the conditions, I simply joined in and fought for something I believe in and posted what I saw and my opinion as a citizen. I also wrote to the City and Council. Only Brad at Publics Works responded. A 'thank you for your concern' from Council may have garnered a few votes. But, I apparently wasn't worth anyone's time.

3. If no one from the City or Council wants the responsibility to respond to public issues on a forum, then simply ignore the thread. But can you say you have never read anything online and taken that back to Council or passed it on? We could ask Patey to remove the City of Monroe folder but that kinda defeats the purpose of this being a public forum. City issues should be "fair game". Recipes are nice, too. :D

4. I can't even fit my fat @ss on a bike so the BMX track holds no value to me. But I think it's great for the kids who want to use it. I just want to make sure they can. But to say I care only about myself is insulting. If I cared, I'd call Mindi for a haircut.

5. I did respond back to Brad.

6. You can see from the interest in the Town Hall or Council meetings that very few show up face to face. Email and public forums are the wave of the future. Everyone is too busy and time management has become an art form. Give the forums the credit they are due - for raising awareness.

7. I'm thankfull to Patey for going directly to Mr. Douglas at the BMX Assoc. and for his input on this forum. Hopefully this track will become an asset in our community very soon.

8. Enough said - now watch for my receipe for apple cake & Mexican shells and cheese coming soon. :D

The BMX park issue has been a catalyst for some crazy feelings :(

Personally, I believe we have addressed and received answers to both fiscal and completion/ safety, concerns...

Let's move forward and upward! Address and act upon what we now have as a solution and Monroe 'BMX'ing' ...

Build it, support it and (wear helmets  ) and they will come ......

It sounds like progress is being made on the track.
Thanks to all for following up on this issue. The BMX kids probably can't wait to start racing.
