Took a long weekend away from the forums...
1. I wasn't living in Monroe in 2005 so I have no idea who wanted what for a future park facility.
2. I wasn't the one who started questioning the BMX track on a public forum. After verifying for myself the conditions, I simply joined in and fought for something I believe in and posted what I saw and my opinion as a citizen. I also wrote to the City and Council. Only Brad at Publics Works responded. A 'thank you for your concern' from Council may have garnered a few votes. But, I apparently wasn't worth anyone's time.
3. If no one from the City or Council wants the responsibility to respond to public issues on a forum, then simply ignore the thread. But can you say you have never read anything online and taken that back to Council or passed it on? We could ask Patey to remove the City of Monroe folder but that kinda defeats the purpose of this being a public forum. City issues should be "fair game". Recipes are nice, too.
4. I can't even fit my fat @ss on a bike so the BMX track holds no value to me. But I think it's great for the kids who want to use it. I just want to make sure they can. But to say I care only about myself is insulting. If I cared, I'd call Mindi for a haircut.
5. I did respond back to Brad.
6. You can see from the interest in the Town Hall or Council meetings that very few show up face to face. Email and public forums
are the wave of the future. Everyone is too busy and time management has become an art form. Give the forums the credit they are due -
for raising awareness.
7. I'm thankfull to Patey for going directly to Mr. Douglas at the BMX Assoc. and for his input on this forum. Hopefully this track will become an asset in our community very soon.
8. Enough said - now watch for my receipe for apple cake & Mexican shells and cheese coming soon.
