Groomers

Who do you use and what do you pay?
I have several dogs (Small) and use Colonial Acres. Avg = $40 per dog.
Is this expensive? To me yes.
& once again they have missed their Dew Claws.

I use D & D Doggy Wash.

I just had one of my dogs groomed a few weeks ago. Small dog. Although their prices have went up a bit this yr. I only paid $25.

I also would recommend D&D. When C&C rescued/adopted a Shih Tzu with a horrible skin condition, I stopped in to inquire about the cost and if they would even help since this poor dog was in such bad shape. They offered to bath and groom her at no cost! They were extremely nice, the shop appeared quite clean and the owners little Pomeranian looked like a show dog! Sold me!!

2 thumbs up to D&D Doggy Wash! :D

Mom grooms only Yorkies and she charges $25 for a bath and complete grooming, including nails, dewclaws and teeth scraping. It could be a bit more for extra matted. If no bath, she charges $20.

I'm not trying to drum up business - trust me when I say I desperately want her to stop (and she has cut down) but I'm told most other places charge alot more. But a groomer paying rent should be more expensive as they have a lot more overhead and expenses.

Back in the late 70's we used to take our poodle to Colonial Acres for grooming. She came home thinking she was the queen of all dogs!!

I know you said you don't want to drum up any business for her BUT...would you mind terribly if I use her when I get ready to get my little one groomed?

I still need to get with her on the "ear thing." ;)

Yes, your case is different!! Please don't wait too long to long to call her. You wanna get the ears trained at a young age or they won't ever stay up!

Oh my! I don't want that to happen. :(

I have something coming up so I might not be able to get to it for a couple of weeks. Will that be too long? I hope not :(

And I noticed tonight he seems to be losing some hair on his head. Is this normal?

Him and the other pup have been doing a lot of "rough housing" lately. Not sure if it's something Yorkies do...or if it's caused from the way the 2 of them play?

The other one is 14 1/2 lbs and this little guy is 2 1/2 lbs. You should see them play. Too funny.

Hey Buckeyenut...."Snickers" will be seeing your mom at 1:00 tomorrow :D

Thank you so much for guiding me in the right direction.

After talking to her she sounds like a real sweetheart

Brandy how did Snickers first grooming go? Haven't talked to mom yet. Is he pawing at his ears trying to remove the tape?

Did you about fall over and faint over the size (or quantity) of my "inheritance"? :P

It went GREAT! Thank you!! I got so many great tips from her I had to write them all down

She trimmed around his eyes, combed him, trimmed his nails, etc, and he looked like a total different puppy after the first few minutes :0 She also wuved on him ;)

He never even tried to take the tape off. She told me to remove it after 2 days and redo. Which I did. But in between there he was tapeless for about 2 hrs. and his ears never went down. :D

Still going to keep it on until we see her again.

OMG...she has such a lovely home, and I never seen so much Yorkie things in one place in all my life!

Everything was decorated so pretty and she has great taste! I loved it all. The pics of Brandy were beautiful and she had them beautifully displayed.

Let's just hope you don't get that inheritance for many, many years!! :)
